Frequently Asked Questions about R.L.M.A.C.

How much does it cost?

We offer affordable tuition to meet your needs and budget.  We offer three attendance options, full time for $79/month (2 classes per week) and part time for $45/month (1 class per week). The third option is to attend 3 classes per week that can be used over the karate program and the kickboxing program for $100/month. The Tiny Tigers program is $45/month. Your tuition includes class time, belt tests, rank belts and associated certificates.  We also sell needed uniforms and equipment at reasonable prices.   We do our best to keep your training affordable and not “nickel & dime” you as many other karate schools do!  We would enjoy sitting down with you and talking with you about our school and associated costs!

What is the focus of the art you teach?

We focus on karate (empty hand) and kobudo (traditional weaponry) from Okinawa.  Our system is called “Ryukodo“.  Ryukodo is an acronym for Ryukyute Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai. This translates into the “Hand of Ryukyu Old Warrior’s Art Weapons Preservation Society”. The Ryukodo System is a compilation of traditional empty hand karate kata, weapons kata from Uhugusuku and Kanagusuku Ryukyu warriors, and modern arnis (stick fighting) from the Philippians.

Why should I train with you and not elsewhere?

We operate our dojo as a school of higher education.  We offer professional instruction in a positive and encouraging environment!  Each student is evaluated and tested with consideration for their age, experience, and abilities.  Our overall goal is to help each student become the best black belt they can be!

Our martial arts lineage is over 200 years old and is directly traceable to Okinawa.

Our instructors have trained in Okinawa.

Our belt ranks are issued with vested authority directly from Okinawa.

Do you have any openings?

Yes!  We are a year round, ongoing program.  We welcome new students to join us at anytime!

How long does it take to get to black belt?

It only takes 2 – 3 years to become a black belt!

Do you require sparring or breaking boards?

We do not require any students to break boards.

“Boards don’t hit back.” ― Bruce Lee
